April 2015

Team Batt (Jonathan, Claire and baby Catrin) had a great Easter Bank holiday weekend judging the Welsh Belgium spring show in Putte. Some wonderful Ponies and Cobs on display. The turn out and the standard of the handlers was second to none. We had a great welcome and made some fantastic new friends!

Lampeter saw us return to being the judged rather than the Judge, and Abergavenny Glory Bee took first place in the 2 year old Section C Filly class under Mrs Christine Ingram of the Newbrook Stud.

The first foals of the year are arriving too, a colt for Sally by Travis, a half / three quarter brother to the filly pictured on this page for Bayleaf's dam by Fronarth Robben. And we also have a bay filly for Mattie by Matty! Confused? Check out the foals page for all the details of this year's foals as they arrive. This year's letter for the Section D foals is "F" ... We are always happy to allow new owners to name their foals, once payment has been made :)

RIP Pennal Calon Lan

Sad news to share today.  Just to let you all know that we have had Pennal Calon Lan PTS.

Purchased as a foal at the Cob Sales in 1988, he has a been a hugely influential stallion to both the stud and the breed in general producing both top class in hand and ridden welsh cobs full of type and character.  Its never an easy thing to say goodbye to a horse that has been so much a part of your life for so many years, but his health was deteriorating so we were in no doubt that it was the right time to make the decision.

Foal Photo's

The For Sale page has been updated with lots of photo's and information of all of this years foals that are available for sale.

May Foal Arrives

We're really pleased with the Black Filly Foal by Danaway Scrumpy Jack and out of Cwmtawe Wallace.  Hopefully we will get some photos of the foals before too long.
